U.S. Forces are pulling out of Iraq and as per schedule are supposed to be completely out by tomorrow, June 30, 2009.
Iraq, 'The Cradle of Civilization' will be on it's own.
..Of course kids should NEVER take candy from strangers.
I am hopeful that this might be an exception.
(BTW, This is a drawing from imagination)

Postscript: The other day I caught a cable program midway on the some of the 'after effects' of the 'Liberation of Iraq. They were showing footage of a little girl (9-10?) walking around her house, upstairs and around some assumed family members. It seemed a little strange and a little odd because she seemed to be moving with direction but no purpose and did not seem to want to stop. She was also wearing a little girls (western) dress hat tilted on her head. It seemed very out of place since this was Iraq. The narrator commented that when her city went into chaos, she was raped supposedly by native male. My mind reeled.
Furthermore, according to the culture, 'unclean' girls where pariahs. The narrator went on to say that later on, the girl had dissapeared and was more than likely killed.
PostScript: 12/15/10 We are still there.
On a more pleasant note, heres a link to some photos of a supposed all female unit (Marines & Corpsmen) from 1/8 RCTII in Afghanistan. But it would be better for their safety and our Countries budget if they were home.: [link]
Post-postscript: 4/20/11 Unfortunately, the above link to the all female 1/8 RCTII in Afghanistan is gone. Tried a quick search, no dice. And Yes, US troops are still in Iraq.
